Events Return: Celebrates Community, Culture, and Connections

Fullerton College enjoyed the return of many signature events including Día De Los Muertos and Love Fullerton. Día De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, has been celebrated at the college for nearly 30 years. The Cadena Cultural Center hosted the vibrant event for the first time and was honored to bring back such an important campus tradition where students and communities from many cultural backgrounds can honor their loved ones.

Love Fullerton marked a return to the Fullerton College campus in spring 2022 and again in 2023. This community-wide service day brought together volunteers who believe more can be done by working together than apart.

Student Life and Leadership and Associated Students brought back Club Rush in person for students to discover connections and community, and paved the way for new events, such as the Lunar New Year Celebration, which brought awareness to the many forms Lunar New Year is celebrated across the world. It also introduced students to the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) services and support available at the college.

In addition to cultural and community celebrations, Fullerton College hosted academic educational experiences, such as the Biotech Open House and the SIGNS Art Gallery exhibition. The Biotech Open House allowed prospective students to participate in lab activities and a lab tour, while SIGNS provided guests a hands-on opportunity to try out some of the art techniques on display.

Beloved events such as Día De Los Muertos and Love Fullerton returned, and new events like the Lunar New Year Celebration were among many events that celebrated community and brought back a sense of campus life after a long pause due to the pandemic.
